He was 70.Born on Feb. 7, 1948, in Cold Spring to the late Carl Francis and Edith Louise Schickler Kniffin.Chip was a retired maintenance supervisor at St. Basil’s in Garrison for many years. He was a member of St. Mary’s in the Highland’s Church. Chip proudly served his country during Vietnam in the United States Army. Chip was a handyman, as his neighbors would call him. He was a typical bluecollar worker who worked hard to provide for his family. He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin College Football and especially enjoyed a good Army-Navy game. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Kniffin, daughter Donna Tice, step children Anthony Ferrara, Colleen Ferrara, Donna Ferrara, and Paulette Ferrara. His sister Edythe Christine and grandchildren Davey and Anne Marie Rivera, Corey and Tyler Swortfiguer, Meghan, Amber and Bethany Ferrara, Cheyene and Trevor DeRonda and 4 great grandchildren.Chip was predeceased by his brothers Carl, Frank and Gary. At Chip’s request, private funeral services will take place. Anna Liuzzo and Dr. David Lewis on Friday, January 11, 2019. Josephine was born December 1, 1931 in Acquedolci, Sicily, to Andrea Ferrara and Calogera (Ventura) Ferrara. At the age of 21, Josephine and her husband, Giuseppe, relocated to Jamestown, New York in 1952. She was a devout Catholic at St. James Roman Catholic Church. Josephine was an honest, caring and loving mother, was always quick to offer her infectious smile and laugh and frequently reminded everyone that "better days are coming." Josephine, or "Pina" as she was lovingly known, worked at Jamestown Worsted Mills, Jamestown Sanitary Cloth Company and Chautauqua Hardware before retiring in 2001. Throughout her retirement, she enjoyed visiting her children and many grandchildren. Josephine will forever be remembered and loved by her six children: Andrew R. (Christina) Liuzzo of Jamestown, NY, Sara Mara of Erie, PA, Joseph R. (Leslie) Liuzzo of Sarasota, FL, Russel R.
